Particularly in the case of luxury goods or goods that could endanger people, a very intensive and reliable quality control is indispensable.
The watch manufacturer Certina relies on camera-based quality control to automatically detect damage and the like.

The problem

The human eye is less able to accurately detect minor damage during this work step. A camera-based system can ensure consistent product quality. Quality and reliability are two fundamental factors for Certina when it comes to quality control.


 

The solution

The camera control unit is attached to an igus flat linear robot and thus forms a very simple and cost-effective variant of a quality control station. An employee only takes out and brings in the goods to be checked manually.
