Product description
Clearance-free and vibration-reducing lead screw nuts

What is axial clearance anyway?
Axial clearance can be used to describe the lost motion, the "dead travel", on the lead screw as a result of the gap between the lead screw and the lead screw nut. Often the term clearance is also associated with it, but the correct technical term is axial clearance. You can find more information here: www.igus.de/info/spielreduzierte-gewindemuttern

What possibilities does the igus product range offer?
To reduce the unwanted axial clearance, in addition to the correct choice of material, a pre-tension mechanism has proven to be an effective measure. For our dryspin® high helix threads and trapezoidal threads there are three versions with pretension: Zero-Backlash, Low-Clearance and AB lead screw nut.

Zero-backlash:
► For lifelong minimum axial backlash
► Optimal for precise positioning and infeed movements

Low clearance:
► Ensure constant axial and radial pre-tension
► High operational smoothness

AB lead screw nut:
► Pre-tension by means of spring load gauge
► Significant reduction of self-induced oscillations and vibrations

Important information: for applications with high loads, hot temperatures or in heavily polluted environments, a standard lead screw nut should always be used. The reason for this is that all three principles are cancelled out by too high loads. For this reason, the maximum static axial loads are specified separately for each lead screw nut model.
