drygear® RL-D external rotary axis – the maintenance-free solution for rotary movements The drygear® RL-D external rotary axis from igus is a compact and versatile unit for implementing defined rotary movements.
The rotary axis is driven electromechanically via a worm gear in combination with a stepper motor. The high gear ratios available in the worm gear ensure self-locking, so that the position reached is held securely even when the power is off. This eliminates the need for additional braking or holding systems.
The design consists largely of tribologically optimised high-performance plastics. These enable lubrication-free dry running and make the rotary axis completely maintenance-free. At the same time, weight and costs are reduced, whilst a long service life and corrosion-free operation are achieved.
Thanks to its compact construction, integrated self-locking mechanism and maintenance-free design, the drygear® RL-D external rotary axis is suitable for reliable use in demanding industrial applications.
