drylin® sustainability

Our products are extremely durable and rarely need to be replaced with new ones. This gives our customers the advantage that their machines run maintenance-free for a long time.

Our plastics are tribologically optimised, i.e. they generate less friction. This means that less energy is required and less micro-abrasion pollutes the environment.

Our bearing technology does not require any additional lubrication. This not only keeps the application clean, but also avoids polluting the environment with lubricating oil, of which up to 500,000 tonnes are released into the environment every year. And that's only in Germany.

Since the company was founded, we have recycled our plastic ourselves and process a good 99% of it back into granulate, which then flows back into production.

Not having to replace the entire application in the event of wear was one of the guiding principles in the development of our replacement bearing for linear guides. The advantage of this is that the rail is not damaged and the bearing housing can be reused. This saves resources - and reduces costs at the same time.

Components are not replaced until they have reached the end of their product life cycle - this is the idea behind our smart plastics product range. Sensors indicate wear and parts are replaced when really necessary; resources are used carefully and rationally.

plastic is lighter than steel and saves weight in use and therefore also the energy required for movement. For example, this amounts to around 4 kg in an aircraft that uses iglidur® plain bearings instead of DU bushes in the aircraft seats. And that has a positive effect on paraffin consumption.

With iglidur® N54, we have developed a standard plain bearing that can be used universally and consists largely of renewable raw materials. The bearing made from biopolymers shows us that sustainability works for components and motivates us in our future-orientated product development.
