Areas of application include gas springs, dampers as well as pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders. Guide rings made of iglidur high-performance plastics ensure extremely low coefficient of friction, have very low wear and withstand even high mechanical loads. Furthermore, due to their material composition, they do require neither additional lubricants nor maintenance.

Prosthetic knee joints from Otto Bock

The problem of fretting corrosion was solved with corrosion-free iglidur guide rings. Thanks to their low wear, the plastic guide rings also convinced operators in tests at Otto Bock's in-house laboratory. Further advantages are that dirt and dust deposits do not affect the piston rings and therefore do not impair the function of the prosthetic knee joints. Additionally, they operate silently.

Uncorking machine from Rink GmbH & Co. KG

A guide ring made of iglidur J is used to mount the valve head when emptying bottles. This is resistant to chemicals and is characterised by low moisture absorption. The guide ring is also easy to fit and reverse compatible. This allowed the surrounding design to remain unchanged. These bearings have been the Rink standard in hydraulic cylinders for several years - especially as they are cost-effective and available quickly as catalogue parts.
